A Guide To Making The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies 


Cookies almost always come to mind when you think about sweet desserts. Chocolate Chip Cookies have been a staple in America since way back when. If a warm chocolate chip cookie, straight out of the oven makes your heart skip a beat, then you may want to pay attention as I am going to break down for you how to make the best chocolate chip cookies.



What you need:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • large eggs
  • 2 cups (12-ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate chips 

Before you start: 

First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Next, take any size baking sheet, I prefer a 9x13 in., and spray nonstick cooking spray all over the pan. You could also use parchment paper, just make sure you cut it to conform to the size of the pan. Afterwards, grab a big bowl, a hand mixer or spoon, your ingredients, and measuring cups. Finally, before you begin, wash your hands. 

Preparing the dough: 

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a big bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. If you don't have a mixer just use a big spoon or even a whisk. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture until well combined. Measure out your chocolate chips and fold them into the cookie mixture with a spoon, do not use a mixer as this will break up the chocolate chips and make them too fine. 

Chilling the cookie dough before baking: 

There are two different methods you can use when it comes time to place the cookies on the tray and into the oven. You can chill the cookie dough after preparing it, which makes it easier to handle later on. If you choose to do this method wrap cookie dough in waxed paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. After that, you can shape the dough into a log shape and cut the cookies to the size of your liking and place on your greased baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks for 10 minutes before serving, or eat them right away. 

Dropping the cookie dough onto the pan:

The other method is just dropping the cookies onto the pan right after folding the chocolate chips in. Drop the cookie dough by rounded tablespoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown then cool on wire racks for 10 minutes or eat them right away. 

*If you like sweet and savory, try sprinkling a little bit of flaky sea salt on the cookies when they come out of the oven,  little goes a long way so be careful*

How to serve the chocolate chip cookies: 

After the cookies have cooled, place as many as you would like on a plate, pour yourself a large glass of milk


and enjoy.
